Due to the Museum pending closure on June 30, 2008, our tour requests have increased dramatically. The month of May is reaching near capacity. Please call soon to reserve your spot before they are gone.

The Lincoln Museum, founded in 1928, is one of Fort Wayne’s premier educational resources. This facility houses one of the nation’s outstanding Lincoln collections. Your students will see the history come to life as it tells the story of Abraham Lincoln and the American Experiment. Our docents (specially trained tour guides) will take your students on a journey into the past, utilizing the artifacts in the museum's collection to illustrate key educational concepts.

The museum's permanent exhibit, Abraham Lincoln and the American Experiment is a stimulating look at how Lincoln preserved and purified America’s bold experiment in government of, by, and for the people. The exhibit challenges and stimulates visitors of all ages. Children as young as kindergarten can step into Lincoln’s boots, listen to a piano play his favorite songs, and feel the texture of Civil War era clothing. Older students can attend an 1850s political rally, or use computers to choose a new Cabinet of advisors for President Lincoln. The Lincoln Museum invites visitors of all interest levels to actively explore the history of Lincoln’s era and not just view artifacts under glass.
